Tarot Readers – Why Don’t I ‘look like’ one?
What is a Tarot reader SUPPOSED to look like?
I bring this up because the average person has a misunderstanding of the Tarot and its applications. The Tarot has been given a bad rap in the movies. The old woman with the arthritic hands and piercing blue eyes taps the Death card and looks at you shaking her head…..cue the ominous music…
Let’s get this straight. The Tarot is not scary, dark, or evil. It is not a good tool for predicting the future, and there are better modalities for answers to simple yes or no questions.
The Tarot is a method of blending the spiritual and metaphysical with the practicalities of daily life. I use the Tarot as a way to tap into what’s going on in our subconscious that could be affecting our current situation without our knowledge. In other words, it can help us find – and force us to face – our boogeymen.
The boring truth is I’m a pretty regular person. I’m a mother, a wife, a coach, a teacher, a professional, an artist,…. and I also just happen to be a Tarot reader.
So – the fact that I’m a pretty regular person sometimes surprises people who learn I read Tarot. I look so ‘normal’ to them. While I love my Grateful Dead skirts and would prefer never to have to wear shoes, I toe the line professionally in my dress, demeanor, and actions in the business world, I simply use a less than traditional tool to help me navigate life, and I’ve found it to be a true gift.
So forgive me my skinny jeans and ‘mom hair,’ and let’s get to helping you create a life you love.
Warmly,
Michele
