You are probably far more psychic than you realize.
There are six “Clairs.” Here are the Top Four.
Claircognizance – Clear Knowing
When we know things we have no reason to know. Things pop into our mind from out of nowhere. If you’ve ever had a flash that you locked your keys in your car – ignored it as you were rushing into work – and locked your keys in your car twenty minutes later, you may be claircognizant.
Clairvoyance – Clear Seeing
When visions of past, present, and future events flash through our mind – our third eye. Sometimes compared to a daydream. If you’re very visually oriented and can easily picture things in your mind’s eye, you may be clairvoyant.
Clairaudience – Clear Hearing
When we hear words, sounds or music in our own mind’s voice. It might be just a word or a phrase and it usually will sound like your voice. If you’re an auditory learner – someone who learns best by listening, you may be clairaudient.
Clairsentience – Clear Feeling
When we feel the emotional and sometimes physical pain of someone else. Many of us are clairsentient without realizing it. When we get a strong ‘gut’ reaction to something, when we get chills for no reason, when we feel pressure in our heart and solar plexus, we may be tuning into the emotional energy of a person or a spirit around us. If you’re highly sensitive you may be clairsentient.
Less Common Clairs
Clairgustance – Clear Tasting
When we taste something that isn’t actually there. This seems to be related to loved ones who have passed on trying to share something with us – perhaps a memory.
Clairalience – Clear Smelling
When we can smell things that have no physical source. Frequently reported smells are cigarette smoke and perfume of a deceased person. If you’ve ever been minding your own business only to suddenly smell old Aunt Martha, you may be clairalient.
Can Clairvoyance be Trained?
Rather than trained, I might say cultivated. We’re all far, far more capable of all of the clairs than we realize. For most of us, our frantic life pace and the constant din of social media and electronic devices keep us so focused on external stimuli we wouldn’t recognize an intuitive thought, feeling, or sound if it smacked us upside the head.
How to Cultivate Clairvoyance and Other Clairs
- In my experience, the key to cultivating any of the clairs is to first just begin paying attention. You might find that little things happen on a regular basis that you just never noticed before.
- Keep a notebook or journal for recording your clair events. It doesn’t need to be elaborate, but keep track. You’ll be glad you did. Keeping track allows you to go back and confirm your skills are growing.
- Learn to spend time in quiet – time when your mind can relax. I know a LOT of people who get ‘downloads’ in the shower, while running, vacuuming, or any number of ‘mindless’ activities. If your mind is always occupied, clair messages will be drowned out.
- Know that the messages coming through are usually extremely subtle. Don’t expect to be bowled over or overwhelmed with a vision 🙂 For most of us, when we begin to be able to recognize the signs, we’re surprised at just how easy it is to miss them and that we never realized just how intuitive we really are.
